Everyone has heard of solar energy. Many of us use solar power every day and don’t think about it. Many calculators have solar panels in them and some of us even have solar powered yard lights. But there is a lot more potential for solar than just those two examples. The sun pours down enough energy to provide all the power needs we could ever have, but finding the ways to harness that energy is the conundrum. Solar panel energy has been in use for years and is even available for the home, but most people don’t really understand the potential that solar energy has for us. But there is a lot more potential for solar than just those two examples. There is so much potential for solar, it is amazing what can be done. Not only can you power your entire home with it, but you can actually have surplus energy you can sell back to the power company. That means you’re not only NOT spending money on your power bill, but they are actually paying you for your surplus. Another great thing about a setup like this is if you own a hybrid vehicle, you don’t have to pay anything to charge it up at home either. Even towns and businesses are taking advantage of solar panel energy to reduce costs and help do their part to reduce their carbon footprints.The sun pours down enough energy to provide all the power needs we could ever have, but finding the ways to harness that energy is the conundrum. While there is some expense in setting up and maintaining a solar energy grid, the entire setup will eventually pay for itself many times over. If enough people were to convert to solar energy which is a totally clean energy source, then power plants that run on coal or even nuclear energy could actually be eliminated. This would reduce the pollution, reduce the need for coal mining and would create new jobs all over the country for manufacturing, installing and maintaining solar panel grids. There are government subsidies and tax breaks for installing solar panel energy. Panels can be installed on the roofs of buildings or as standalone panels as well. Retrofitting solar panels for existing structures is a breeze and being able to take advantage of alternative energy sources for your home just makes good sense. Between the benefits of clean energy, having energy to power your home or business, having excess energy to sell back to the electric company and being able to charge your electric or hybrid vehicles and the added benefits of tax breaks and subsidies, solar energy panels aren’t just a pipe dream anymore. The reality is much cooler.
