Gout symptom relief can be achieved through the use of natural home remedies using normal every-day ingredients. That's right, you can relieve gout symptoms using stuff you have in your kitchen, or, you get from your grocery store. This article outlines what the symptoms of gout are, what causes gout and how you can get gout symptom relief using natural home remedies.

Gout is caused by a build up uric acid crystals in the spaces between the joints and the connecting tissues. This build up occurs when the body fails to process and properly eliminate excess uric acid. This is either due to a hereditary pre-disposition to not processing uric acid effectively or when high levels of uric acid are present in the body from the metabolization of purine.

When you have a pain attacks from gout the pain could last a few minutes or a few days. The length of time varies. The pain is usually worse at night which is not very good because it can make it difficult for people to sleep. The sensitivity that you feel in the affected areas can also make it difficult to wear clothes or shoes. As you can see gout really affects your entire life. That is why it is such a horrible affliction.

There are several factors that can influence gout related symptoms and cause them to appear. Among these factors gender, genetic predisposition, being overweight, diet and alcohol consumption are the most likely to be important. If either of your parents had gout symptoms, then you have a one in five chance of also developing the condition. Diets rich in red meat and alcohol tend to encourage gout to develop.

Symptoms:

Gout symptoms usually attack just a single joint at a time. It especially likes to go after the big toe. The why of that is probably buried deep in scientific annals, but whatever, it is true. Those with gout must watch that they don't mistreat their condition and lose a toe. Other symptoms of gout can be pain in the foot, ankle, wrist, hand and elbow. It seems as if deposits of chemicals called uric acid also called tophi will appear as lumps beneath the skin surrounding the joint.

If you think you are having gout symptoms, it is time to bite the bullet and go visit a doctor. You don't have to suffer the pain associated with this gout symptom if you get yourself some physical therapy and find the medications that best address your gout symptom.

These symptoms of gout are caused by uric acid crystals that have formed in the joints and tendons. But although these cause the symptoms, they are not the root cause. These crystals themselves are actually formed from excess uric acid in the bloodstream.

Smoking and the consumption of alcohol are considered to be factors that support and aggravate gout symptoms. Alcohol interferes with the normal renal activity, causing the kidneys to release less uric acid through urine, while smoking seriously damages arteries, affects blood circulation and slows down the process of healing.
