When you sit on the ball, you are going to be using your abdominal muscles to help you keep your balance so that you don't go rolling off the ball. As you improve your posture and the strength of your abdominal muscles, you will start to notice that your back pain decreases. This happens are your spine is more stabilized as your abdominal muscles take over a lot of the work that was placing a strain on the back in the first place. An exercise ball will relieve pain and give you the freedom to become a little more mobile once again.
