The Proper High Blood Pressure Diet

The most that high blood pressure can bring are strokes and cardiac arrests. In such cases, the heart stops beating and the other vital organs of our body suffer because of damage. So, to rescue from high blood pressure, there is a need of a proper and balanced diet.

DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) Diet
The DASH diet is a Mediterranean diet consisting of whole grains, fish, poultry, and nuts. These foods are rich in magnesium, potassium and calcium. Meat should only used as a side dish and not part of the main menu. In case meat is part of the meal, lean meats and poultry should be preferred together with fish. Do not fry your food but instead have it grilled, steamed, stir-fried or roasted. Eat tasty foods and fruits as sugar substitutes.

Avocado
Avocado being a wonderful fruit has added benefits to lower cholesterol and it is a good part of the anti-high blood pressure diet. This fruit contains oleic acid which is needed in lowering high blood pressure. This can be a good appetizer because avocados have carotenoids. You can have the following dishes with a mixture of avocado: California Roll, Grilled Marinated Swordfish with Avocado, Guacamole Chicken Salad, Cheese Scallion and Avocado Enchilada and Chicken Monetary.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D is commonly found in oily fish, milk, eggs, and cereals. Besides, one can get Vitamin D by being out in the early rays of the sun.
Fish Oil
Fish oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which are natural blood thinners to reduce high blood pressure. Strokes and heart attacks can be avoided because these can improve the circulation of blood. Fish oil is really beneficial to our health because it reduces the risk of heart problems particularly cardiovascular diseases.
Potassium rich foods
Eating plenty of potassium rich food can keep you healthy, your muscles working and your cardiovascular system strong. Moreover, it can lower high blood pressure without as well. Potassium rich fruits include bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries and melons. Potassium rich veggies are beans, carrots, broccoli, potatoes and spinach.

Garlic
Garlic can lower the diastolic pressure. It can be used to add tasting to the foods we eat. Besides, it can fuel our circulatory system. With garlic intake, it can make blood flow easier.
Apple Juice
Apple juice can reduce bad cholesterol and reduce plaque in the artery walls. Try apple cider vinegar mixed in eight ounces of water daily as a heart-healthy supplement.

Saffron
Saffron contains chemical crocetin which is a proven reducer for high blood pressure. Mix it in your favorite casserole and saucy dishes.

Magnesium
Magnesium is abundant in almonds, rice, cashew, bananas, fish and green leafy vegetables. This can lift the threat of stroke, heart attack, kidney failure or even blindness.
These diets as a whole coupled with exercise and relaxation are effective means of strengthening our heart muscles and empowering the heart to take necessary action for a better blood circulation.
