What To Know Before Producing House Music?

House music has become very popular amongst music lovers in a very short span of time. There are lots of people who love listening to house music but out of them there are few people who actually want to produce music on their own and in their own style. But before you produce music of any kind it is customary to have some basic knowledge about the music form, its history and trends followed by other artists of the same genre. Let us start with the history of house music and how it got originated. The music form originated in Chicago around 1980s and since then it has been seen expanding. House music is a style of electronic dance music and DJs in clubs and discos gave birth to house music.

In house music there are different musical elements which are being used by artists to give effects and beats on which people can groove. One very basic element which is used in almost every house music chart is kick drum. The kick drum which is also known as four-on-the-floor beat is generally generated by either by a device called sampler or drum machine. Other element which producers include in house music is bass sounds and this can be done by making use of different instruments and sources. One instrument which is used for producing sequenced continuous or repeating lines is a synthesizer like Roland SH-101 or TB-303. House music charts have also been seen to include disco or gospel vocals.

By now you must have got some knowledge about house music and its history. Other thing that one can do to understand house music in a better way is to listen house music tracks produced by renowned artists to gather some more details regarding production of house music. Some of the artists who have made great contributions to the genre of house music are Ashley Beedle, Barbara Tucker, Crystal Waters, D Mob, Dave Clarke and many more. Listen to the tracks produced by these artists or even others carefully and note down different points you notice while listening to them. You can either buy CDs from market or if you cannot afford to spend too much on them then simply download tracks from internet that is free of cost.
