The auto industry has seen the emergence of different technologies on hybrid electric cars following Toyota's release of its first model, Prius, in 2001. Of course, the concept of hybrid cars is still the same as in all cars. The difference lies in the engine designs. Reviews has it that the 2007 hybrid cars are now more auto technologically-advanced than any car manufactured before. And the best part is that car manufacturers all over are aiming to develop even better hybrid cars in the future to compete in the market! Here are some examples of the more popular hybrid cars for the year. Toyota Prius The 2007 hybrid car from Toyota remains to be the most reliable and most fuel efficient in the industry. For a little over $1 of gas, this vehicle can manage just about 25 miles; now that is economy. Not new to the market, the Prius has been promoting change in the automobile industry since it first appeared in 2001. It's a mid-sized car that can be well mistaken for a compact and it has the smallest tank for its class and makes sure it doesn't waste even a smidgen of fuel. Saturn Aura Hybrid Car For a sedan, Saturn really knows how to attract with its looks. But under the hood, this hybrid car tells a different story. It may look good but for the year 2007, it is probably the worst performing hybrid in its class. A mid-size car with a tank size of about 16 gallons, the engine acts more like a thirsty animal than one that can conserve fuel; as a hybrid, it still does conserve gas but not as well as models found in the same category and from other car manufacturers. 2007 Nissan Altima As far as fuel economy is concerned, the 2007 Nissan Altima is really quite the player in the field. Albeit the 2007 model mean that you would have to cash out about $1200 a year on fuel alone, the 2007 hybrid from Nissan still manages to go as far as 702 miles on full tank. It seems to beat its competition in Toyota hybrid but the trick is that Nissan actually has a larger tank that holds as much as 20 gallons of fuel. For the more careful hybrid fan, it may not be prudent to go for the Altima but for those who find gas stops a hassle, the 2007 Nissan Altima may just be the hybrid for them. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Car The latest model of Honda Civic hybrid car is probably the closest runner-up to the top selling in the field, the Toyota hybrid. The Honda Civic was placed under the top selling gas-car, and now, it seems that it can even further prove its own worth in the hybrid car arena as well with a tank slightly larger than Toyota's Prius, running for 554 miles on its full tank. This edge is definitely quite an improvement from its last hybrid model. Hybrid car aficionados should not be surprised, therefore, to find it on top of the 2007 Hybrid car list once the Prius stocks run low.
