3 Ways To Spot A Quality Business Card

By: Patrick Cannon Home | Business | Marketing

90% of all business cards go into the trash almost immediately while the remaining 10% stick around. Those 10% are the quality business cards. The latter is oozing of quality and distinctiveness. They stand out amongst competitor’s cards. A quality business card will boost your business brand.

Quality Business Card Stock
Normally when creating a business card the paper being used is either 10 or 12PT who’s future includes the 90% bucket. The other 10% use 16PT card stock. Its thickness is significantly greater than that of other kind of paper, which makes those business cards durable. They don’t easily wear out or get torn, especially if they are kept in a business card holder for a very long time. You can also opt to have your business cards coated with UV or a glossy coating, which will not only make your business cards look more elegant, but a lot thicker.

Business Card Graphic Design
In general, the hues or shades of your designer business cards should be vivid and sharp. It should be emphasized that the colors you may see in your monitor may be quite different from the ones in the final product. This is especially true if you are using non-standard shades or that the materials you are hoping to use are uncoated stocks. Choose wisely if you do it yourself. Professional touches require professional involvement. Use a professional printer if it’s possible. They have the skills.

Why Should They Call You?
Your cards need to present to the viewer how to contact, what they should contact you for, and what is special about you. Put every single possible way to reach out and touch you. Include information about your products and services. Include a tagline, slogan, or phrase that helps the reader remember why you are special.

We’ve all been there. It can be difficult to come up with a unique design. So don’t over think it. Take a look at your printer’s business card graphic design portfolio for ideas. You don’t need to follow it exactly. Just use it to get you started.
