A good underwater digital camera is an excellent investment for those people that enjoy taking pictures. With just a little more money you can have a very practical camera that can go with you anywhere including the pool or beach or anywhere there is a wet environment. Most of these cameras can take pictures and 35 feet of water. Just imagine the great shots you'll get on your next scuba diving trip! Vacations just would not be the same without pictures, lots and lots of pictures. Preserving the memory of the vacation is almost as important as the vacation itself! Now, even those trips to the beach can be part of the memory because there are cameras you can take right into the water with you. There are some really great underwater digital cameras that also perform well for every day use, so there is no need to own two cameras. In fact, the very things that safeguard these cameras from water can also protect them from the dirt and grime that is part of a camping vacation! If you already have a camera that you are pleased with, but don't want to take a chance taking it near the water without protection, you can buy waterproof casings to cover it, but they can cost a lot more than getting one of the very inexpensive underwater disposable cameras that you can take along with you to the beach. Disposable underwater cameras have drawbacks. 1. One of the main drawbacks though of disposable cameras is that you have to wait for the developing of the film and you won't know if the pictures you took worked out until then. Disposables are great choices though to send with the kids on their camping or beach trips with their friends! The few dollars that a disposable camera will cost you are worth not having to worry about whether it might get lost or wrecked. 2. Most disposable underwater cameras work fairly well in a few feet of water but have problems if there is not enough light, so the quality of the pictures in deeper water might not be as clear. 3. Also they are genrally not editable; one of the greatest advantages to owning an underwater digital camera is being able to edit your photos as you take them, ensuring that the pictures you end up with are really the best they can be.
