Traffic generation seems to be the most talked about barrier to success in Internet Marketing. For many, putting up a website and monetizing that website are no problem at all. However, that website is of no use if it is receiving no traffic for the site owner. So what are some of the methods that an internet marketer can use to draw traffic to their newly built, and informative website? I will outline a few of the methods that I enjoy using to bring traffic. Please bare in mind as you read that traffic begets traffic. In other words, once some traffic begins to trickle into you website, much more will likely be on the way as the search engines begin to take notice of you. 1.Article Writing. A well-written, informative article submitted to quality directories is virtually guaranteed traffic. The volume of traffic will depend apon the volume and quality of the articles submitted. Submitting very many articles will mean more people reading your articles, higher quality and more informative articles will ensure that more people will click through your resource box to your website. Traffic is a function of both volume and of conversion rate. 2.Forum Posting. This can be a useful mechanism for driving traffic to your site. Research as many different forums as you can find in your niche. Once you have found some, sign up as member of the forum, the create an enticing signature that will accompany your posts. Please remember to never spam the forums and do not overtly try to sell anything on the form. Your signature is designed to make people eager to visit your site, not to buy from you. In other words, you are trying to sell the click, not a product. 3.Blog comments. Just as we did in the previous topic, you will search for blogs in your niche. Take a moment to read through some of the posts in each of the blogs that you discover. Under each blog post, you will see the opportunity to leave a comment and your comment will be accompanied by your link to your site. Please use caution when submitting this way. The blog owners have full authority with regards to what gets posted on your site and what doesn't. Just as above, ensure that your comments are thoughtful, helpful, and positive and any blog owner would be sure to approve it. Each of the methods outlined above will create the primary benefit of having direct traffic comming from it. People will read your informative and interesting articles, forum posts, and blog comments, and will be enticed to click through to your site. But even if they do not, you have also created the secondary benefit of creating backlinks to your site. A backlink is nothing more than a simple link to your site. The proliferation of links back to your site will create more interest from the search engines. If all of these tasks are performed consistently, these elements will work together to help create a buzz about your site, and will, without a doubt increase your traffic.
