Tanzania is a region of beaches, mountains, and wilds. It is beautiful, challenging, even dangerous. Before you set out on a Safari, make sure that you have done your research and look into the regions that you feel are most conducive to your state of mind and your expectations. Arusha and Mount Meru: Forget everything that you may have heard about Tanzania. It is not a place lacking in civilization. In fact, if you visit the town of Arusha, you will find many amenities. Nightlife booms with bars and clubs designed for the young and old alike. When you are not living it up and having the time of your life, you can check out the Arusha National Park that houses wild life and a variety of activities such as horseback riding, canoeing and hiking trails. To top it off, there is the glorious Mount Meru, a dormant volcano that welcomes you to check out its impressive wonders as it overlooks the city. Iringa Region: If you want to escape the heat of the day, then there aren't many better places than this area within Tanzania's grasp. Its cool nights offer welcome asylum from the day's festivities and recharge your batteries for those long safaris that are so worth your time and money. Kenya: This area is known for many great areas, but perhaps none more vast and wondrous than the Masai Mara. The game reserve hosts the migration of wildebeest two months out of every year and puts you in contact with a variety of different species that can't be seen back home. Kigoma: A very beautiful and accommodating part of the region is Kigoma. With its aquatic life that includes many species of fish and water birds, it is a dream come true for the area's fishermen, as well as tourists looking for a little sun and a lot of fun. The narrow alleyways of the region are lined with many shops filled with friendly people willing to assist through any language barriers. In fact, English is quite well spoken in this region, and if you are migrating from the western world, this is the perfect place to have as your starting point. Kilimanjaro: Of all Tanzania's regions, none are more fabled than the towering mountains of Kilimanjaro. Made for adventure, this area invites tourists with an interest in climbing to take on and conquer its many challenges. A word of caution: take your climb seriously. Read up on proper equipment, be ready for the altitude changes, and have a proper state of mind. Safaris make the ultimate holidays for adventure. Come prepared. Bring a healthy spirit. And you will never grow old regretting that you could have done more.
