Every school or organization can stand to benefit from the purchase of a portable PA system. The ability to communicate with large groups of people is one of the most common benefits of technology, and in that field, these products are among the best at doing the job. But it's important to remember that most portable PA systems do not come cheap. If you really want something that will get the job done, then it requires an investment of money and time. Before you take that all important purchasing step, keep these five tips in mind for how best to deal with life afterward: Know how much you will use it. Over time every product wears out. Frequency of use plays a huge role in whether or not your PA will last years or decades. Before you fork out a lot of money for something that is top of the line and includes all kinds of bells and whistles, determine how much it is needed, and whether cheaper models have the features needed for the required use. Plan for the venue in which the portable PA system will be used. These items come in all shapes and sizes. Some are ultra powerful for large venues while others save you money by playing better to small. Determine where the system will go, so you may be able to make an educated decision for where to place it. Teach all those who will be aiding in the operation of the equipment how important it is to treat the PA with respect. This one applies to schools in particular, because often times, they put students in charge of it for cheerleading competitions and plays. Before you allow someone the freedom to operate this expensive equipment, you must first make sure that they are trustworthy and responsible. Ensure that they know how to operate the CD player and the rest of the machine's functions. Limit access to its operation.
