When I began this journey looking for ideas in how to build my affiliate marketing business, I had to find the answers to these six basic questions. Hopefully these questions will help you decide when choosing the right affiliate program for your online business. Take these six factors into consideration. 1. Can you really make money from the product you will be promoting? Don't be sucked into a program just because of promised high commission payments. You need conclusive answers to these next two questions. 2. Is the product that you'll be offering to the public, one that people will seriously think about buying from you? Think about how you will measure up to your online competitors. 3. Is the commission that you will make on a single sale, sufficient enough for you when compared to the efforts made promoting the product? 4. How convincing will your sales page be? Invite a family member or a friend whom you trust, to view the sales page and simply ask them what they think. Would it be something they would consider purchasing? Is it something they would consider valuable? Can the sales page truly convince your customers to purchase the product? 5. And finally, what kind of support will be available to you from your affiliate program? The affiliate merchant needs to provide you with much more than just a link to join the affiliate program. There needs to be detailed information on where you can go for that support. Also what kind of online tools will be available for you to use to promote their products? Things such as testimonials, banners, ads, articles and so on. 6. How many different kind of affiliate marketing programs can you promote at one time? If you plan to put a number of different affiliate products on your one web page then it is likely that you will dilute it's effect. Unless you decide to promote various products that will be related to the same niche market. Otherwise if you keep them separate you can have as many as you like, but do not underestimate the work involved for you on the administration side such as: a) Different procedures for signing up. b) Different ways of creating affiliate links. c) Different methods of payments, at different intervals. d) Handling ongoing communications from every program. A smart thing to do is use a company that offers various affiliate marketing programs but they all fall under one roof. That way they can consolidate your commissions into one payment to you.
