By: Gen Wright Home | Business

Laminate flooring has become the most popular option for many home owners around the world, because it is cost-effective and so easy to maintain.

You will find this is a long-lasting and beautiful solution for your way of life. But do not forget one important aspect of these laminated floors - they require care and regular clean-up in order to last you for a longer time. Here are a few important tips for you to consider after installing laminate flooring:

1. Use little water - Never use too much water on laminate floor. This might cause damage to the floor or streaking. Use as little water as you need to get a nice shine. Alternatively, try a damp mop for cleaning it. A mop is also recommended to remove excess water, before applying floor cleaner.

2. Say no to soap - It is highly recommended no to use soap-based products to clean the floor. Never use no-name cleaners since they will most likely damage the flooring or lead to discoloration. Try to find a product recommended by the manufacturer of your laminate flooring to eliminate any damage risk to the floors.

3. Try rubbing alcohol - When there is no cleaning product immediately available, try some natural cleaners. Rubbing alcohol in combination with vinegar is a powerful combination that will remove dirt or stains from your floors naturally. They can either be used together or separately, delivering good results every time.

4. Always follow instructions - Most cleaners available on the market have instructions on the cleaning process available on the package. Strictly follow these instructions because otherwise you might find. Don't forget to wear the appropriate gear for your protection such as gloves to protect from skin damage. Some cleaners deliver a hard smell so make sure you won't get dizzy or nauseous when using these products.

5. Careful with your cleaner - It is very important not to use the cleaners available directly on the surfaces. Carefully measure the amount of cleaner you need and dilute it accordingly.

6. Never drag furniture - This is a necessary thing to remember if you're planning on keeping your floors looking brand new for years to come. Always try to lift heavy furniture, rather than drag it across the floor to avoid leaving marks or scratches. If you cannot lift this furniture, place a rug under when dragging it.

7. Use rugs with confidence - If your floor gets dirty too quickly, you might want to consider placing a rug in those areas, which will absorb all the dirt and can be easily cleaned.

8. Act on the spot - One thing that house owners must know is that spots should be cleaned immediately. This way, they do not get to after the floor surface, thus making them harder to get removed.
