They are typically straightforward to use and come with all the data you need preloaded onto them so they are ready to use almost immediately.

If you do not have a great deal of technical knowledge but you still insisting on getting a PDA for various reasons, then you will need to be patient and be prepared to do quite a bit of research. These devices do take some time to learn how to use properly if you have not used them before. One option is to get a system which has a Quick Start card which will help you set everything up quickly without having to install any additional software manually. This can save you a lot of time and hassle and is definitely an option worth considering if you want to get a PDA-based satellite navigation system.

Depending on what you are going to use the sat-nav for, a dedicated in-car system may be the best option as these are cheaper and far simpler to use and are optimized for a more specific purpose.

Satellite navigation systems have gone down a lot in price in recent times and there are an abundance of different products out there which suit the wide variety of budgets. To choose a sat nav at the price which is right for you, it is worth looking on some of the many price comparison sites available on the Internet which will help you to get the best deal.

If you want to spend a minimal amount of money, you can find some very cheap new and second-hand products on EBay and other auction sites although just make sure that you have read some reviews about the specific product before you start forking out money for it.
