A lot of different events and activities give out trophies. A championship trophy is perhaps the most important one of all. Winning different sports trophies and other awards gives the winners a sense of accomplishment and pride in themselves. All awards also serve as physical reminders of that event. When someone wins such a prize they are usually very attached to it. This is because of all of the emotions that were wrapped up in the heat of the day and event. A lot of schools have a trophy case where they display all of the awards that they have won throughout the years. Sometimes, schools have a sports trophies case, and an academic trophy case. Generally speaking, most are given for sporting events. However, some events will also give out a championship trophy as well. Things like math tournaments and spelling bees are likely events to have champion trophies. Sometimes events will hand out a memorial trophy to someone who they want to honor. This could be someone with an injury, or a former player. Hunters get these prizes and mount them on the wall. This is because most hunting trophies are animal heads. Wives are sometimes considered to be trophies as well. The pretty woman is often considered a trophy wife because the husband had to "hunt" her down to get her to marry him. When someone receives such a prize, they usually place it in a prominent spot. The reason for this is because they are proud that they were the best at something. Of course for small children, some organizations will give game trophies to every player. Usually only games such as the Super Bowl, the World Series, and other top competitive events in different sports offer championship trophies. That is part of what makes them so special. The harder you have to work for something, the prouder you will be of the prize that came along with it. Some people go so far as to make a kind of shrine for their trophies. They will build a fabulous looking trophy case, or maybe even build a trophy room. People are not allowed to go in every day, but the person will take visitors to the room to show them how accomplished they are. The main purpose of them is to give contestants a physical reminder of the event. The championship trophy is important because it not only serves as a reminder of the event, and when and where it was won, but it also provides something attainable to go along with the victory. Both of these processes are necessary to build up the competitive spirit. There are many different kinds of awards and trophies, and most of them are very hard won. Winning brings a sense of pride to a job well done.
