A Great Evening On Broadway With Guys And Dolls The Musical

When news was out that Guys and Dolls the Musical was headed back to Broadway after seventeen years most were ecstatic that the show was to return. Perhaps one of the most classic and old-fashioned musicals to ever play on Broadway the latest production has brought back what everyone loves of the musical, classic songs and beautiful choreography which keeps audiences at the edge of their seats night after night.

Guys and Dolls the Musical is one of the all time greatest to ever take the stage in new York City and the latest production does not disappoint. The musical score which has produced some of the most classic Broadway show tunes such as â€Luck Be A Lady" and â€A Bushel and A Peck†are ever so present and the storyline of a rolling craps game, two friends and a little bet suddenly make the show take off.

The original Guys and Dolls the Musical appeared in New York back in 1950 where it enjoyed some great success including winning the Tony Award for Best Musical. Soon after in 1955 the musical was adapted into a movie which starred Frank Sinatra, who once again brought the great musical score of Frank Loesser to life this time on the silver screen.

The new production which has opened at the Nederlander Theatre on March 1, 2009 is no short on stars either. The cast for this open-ended run includes such names as Oliver Platt and Lauren Graham and a host of many Tony Nominated actors. It was around seventeen year ago from writing this or back in 1992 that the last production was playing on Broadway and it included a popular cast as well including Nathan Lane who has enjoyed much success on The Great White Way since.

The Nederlander is selling out often for Guys and Dolls the Musical and tickets are high in demand. The theater has a weekly number of seats available at 9,736 and has been selling out around 9,400 per week with an average ticket price costing about $70.00. Of course for sold out show times and for premium seating to such in demand show times the prices are much more costly.

The return of such a classic show will be one of the highlights for the 2009 Broadway year and this is a show that must be seen for anyone who loves Broadway but really for all who just love a classic and old-fashioned musical production that does not fall short on mesmerizing songs and choreography that is a throw back to the great ear of musicals in New York City. Guys and Dolls the Musical is sure to knock the socks off of everyone who gets a chance to see it.
