A Guide To Having A Successful Tradeshow

By: Brent Smookler Home | Business

There are some points to remember when setting up your tradeshow display that will attract more people to your booth. The most successful trade show displays focus on interactive aspects. These expos are rare because customers actually get the chance to speak with the vendors about their product and services. Because your competitors will be at the show, too, you have to be ready to make a professional impression and provide customers with all the information they need or they'll simply find someone else to buy from.

Marketing is a must when you are attending a trade show. To drive high-quality customers to your display, you need to have plenty of promotional items on hand. When customers pass your booth, you'll be able to supply them with business cards and other promotional items. Before stopping at a particular display, many trade show attendees will browse the entire expo. If you are nice and helpful, customers will most likely return to visit your booth.

A trade show vendor who is not prepared to conduct business is making a big mistake. With trade shows, you not only have the opportunity to market your goods or services, but also have the ability to gather business contacts and engage in business deals. It is very important while at a trade show to have a business plan. One aspect of remembering that you are a business representative is to make sure you have a place to conduct business and store information and forms.

Even when the trade show is done, the vendor still has work to do. For instance, hopefully you will have accumulated a great deal of contact information from potential customers. It is very important to promptly follow-up with customers, whether they have bought your product or service or have simply handed out their information about contacts and potential business deals. It's easy to lose focus in the rush of manning a trade show display, so don't forget contacts and potential deals.

Once you've gathered contact information from customers interested in your business, make sure you follow up with them within two days of the initial contact. If you are at a lengthier trade show, it is advisable that you contact these customers while you are still at the show. A customer who gives you information at a trade show is much more likely to place an order with you if you contact them quickly. To contact customers, you can email them, call them on the telephone, or even send them a letter. To stand out in customers' minds, a quick response to a query is vital.
