A Look At The Legendary Porsche 911

By: Mat Depp Home | Recreation-and-Sports

Consumer Reports, which counts among the most esteemed publications in regards to tests and shoot outs concerning various makes of vehicles has declared the Porsche 911 as the top high-performance sports car. The result was issued after a number of tests and comparisons were analyzed and studied.

Consumer Reports created an in-house testing lab. It as well took into account various aspects apart from the aforesaid. Other aspects include the vehicle's real performance, acceleration, braking and other pluses and characteristics.

The celebrated mag employed different rating system than that of the customary system used to assess minivans, sedans and other cars. This information was given by David Champion, senior managing director of Consumer Reports' automobile test facility. Champion explained "although the tallying was still to a great extent weighted toward safety, like emergency handling, components like acceleration were given further weight than, for example, boot space.

Consumer Reports has as well anonymously bought all the cars it screened from retail automobile dealerships. This is to prevent qualms affecting the outcomes of the testing. Although the rating system used was dissimilar from that of the habitual, said tallying is dependable and more efficient.

Going by the testing the Porsche 911 did better than the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the Dodge Viper and eleven additional high-performance luxurious sports cars. It was brought up in CNN that the prices of the automobiles tested ranged from $45,545 for a Lotus Elise to $105,855 for a Mercedes-Benz SL550.

The prestigious accolade is nothing extraordinary for Porsche. As a matter of fact, said car manufacturer has as well pocketed the first place as the most honored luxury car name. Said accolade was given by the Luxury Institute in New York. The survey of the Institute was done in May this year.

Porsche is preserving its legacy as the most deluxe name and its models live up to said designation. For Porsche that's just another day at the office and the prstigious German car manufacturer is sure to dazzle us againin the future with magnificent creations like the Porsche 911 cabriolet.
