The hit and acclaimed London production of A Moon For The Misbegotten has moved to New York City's famed Broadway and is already creating a huge buzz. The play premiered at the Brooks Atkison Theater in March and officially opened on April 9th, 2007. The Broadway production holds nothing back as it throws two time Academy Award winning Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey into the lead role to portray the dramatic tale of love and redemption. Spacey fills the comedic aspects of the writing to perfection and takes the drama where it wants and needs to go. A Moon For The Misbegotten was written in 1923 by Eugene O'Neil and is considered to be a comic drama. The storyline and writing are very emotional and focus around Josie Hogan, an Irish women who knows what she wants and demands it. Set in Connecticut on a farmland home, Josie lives with her father in a somewhat less then desirable living quarters. Josie suddenly reveals her feeling for her fathers landlord Jim who has a drinking problem which has interfered with his entire life. In deep discussion under the moon both characters confess to what they have kept secret all this time. A Moon For The Misbegotten has a long and solid reuptation in theater. The London show was a huge hit which only played for 112 performances on it's limited run. The show did outstanding on the West End and was the Theaters highest grossing show in it's history. The drama has been on Broadway three other times, the original debute was in 1957 and when it returned in 1973 to become a very popular Broadway show. Considered a sequel to "Long Days Journey Into The Night," another O'Neil play which focuses around the character of Jim Tyrone at a younger age. A Moon For The Misbegotten tickets for the Broadway production have gone on sale and become a popular item. Premium seating is costing more then two hundred dollars per show with popular evenings costing the most. Average face value box office tickets sell for around sixty dollars. The Brooks Atkison Theater has a total seating capacity of 1044. When trying to locate tickets for any Broadway show it is always best to plan ahead and call the box office directly. This will assure you of A Moon For Misbegotten tickets at face value with guaranteed legitimacy. If all tickets for the shows are sold out when you already have a set plan for your time in New York City the best option would be to use a ticket broker. This method will cost you a lot more money but will assure a legitimate ticket. If a popular weekend night is not important to you, catching a Monday evening show will have the best chance for a face value ticket from the theater.
