The e.p.a. fuel economy rating of 25 m.p.g. in town and 32 m.p.g. in the country make it an industry leader for any sport utility. And innovation is the key in this Saturn engine. Many hybrid engines use a discrete electric motor that will operate much like an gasoline engine. Saturn's "Green Line" has produced a belt alternator-starter that shuts off when the car comes to a complete stop, thereby eliminating gas usage while the car idles.
