Retirement means saying a big goodbye to your stressful work-life. However, it does not mean total inactivity. You should continue to engage in something on a daily basis that will keep you active. Don't make your body think you are no longer doing anything in this world. If it starts thinking this because of inactivity, it might end up shutting down and leading to early death. There are two main perspectives to retirement that will determine whether you will enjoy it or not. Some people see retirement as the end of their world and spend a greater part of their lives in relative gloom and obscurity. Another group of people see retirement as a doorway to a kind of adventure that they look forward to each day. Depending on which group you fall into, retirement can be a complete drag or an exhilarating experience. During your retirement, don't fall into the trap of thinking that a sedentary lifestyle is part of the retirement phase. Nothing will make you more bored than that. Make a conscious effort to exercise and keep your body and mind alive. Doing what you love doing is something great for any soul. When you were working, you couldn't afford to do those things.
