To ensure no one is stuck for long Machinarium offers two levels of hints. Most scenes will have a very simple clue available by clicking the bulb that appears in the top menu. A thought bubble will appear with a simple sketch indicating the key action that needs to be taken. If you’re still stuck after that, there’s a clue book that can be clicked on which will offer a detailed pictorial guide for what that location requires of you.

However, to prevent lazy peeking, the pearl ring book is itself a little arcade game. You must guide a key through a side scrolling hazardous route, dodging the rocks and firing at enemy spiders, until you reach a keyhole. Er, yes.

Do this and the walkthrough is yours. It’s not difficult, but it’s time consuming, and it’s one of the best ways to put you off cheating I’ve seen. And I should add, some of the puzzles are brilliant. The butterfly wing/slide projector puzzle is a pleasure to solve, and many †like the popcorn/crowbar incident †are just so special.

A new blog post from Soldak Entertainment's Steven Peeler once again reveals information about the company's upcoming action RPG, Din's Curse. This time Peeler explored the pearl jewelryunstable cave environments in the game, which will include cave-ins triggered by player and monster actions.

In Din's Curse players take the role of an adventurer cursed to walk the lands in a quest for redemption. The pearl necklacegame features 141 possible class combinations, an infinite number of dynamically generated towns, and a game world directly impacted by player choices.

A cave-in is exactly what you expect, large forces like explosions can break weakened areas of the cave or dungeon causing large rocks to fall down, crushing whatever is below them. Falling rocks do a good bit of damage, can temporarily block areas, and can pearl necklacescause further cave ins. Be careful with those powerful spells. They might kill your intended victims, but they also might rain down boulders on you or block your escape route.
