A Tungsten Ring for Your Wedding Band When getting married, there is a lot of hype that goes into shopping for the perfect ring. Usually, this attention is directed toward the jewelry for women. What is the right diamond, what is the right tone, should it be platinum or gold? Men will go crazy trying to find the perfect match to fit the personality and style of their bride, so they can wear the ring with pride. Men will travel high and low to find the right match, even have the ring custom built to set the style apart from those offered in traditional stores. So if men are willing to go to the ends of the world to find the right ring for women, shouldn’t it go both ways? It is an argument which can be debated to whether a ring is more important to a woman than it is to a man; however, they will still be seen wearing your selection around. I would say that selecting the right ring for a man is not nearly as difficult because there probably are not as many different styles to choose from. For example, a man’s ring will usually not have a mount; where as women’s rings can have many different types. The main things you will need to think about when selecting a ring is the color, type, tone, and size. A few different options in men’s rings are gold, platinum, titanium, and tungsten rings. Many ring companies will mix different variations to build the selection that they offer. For example, a gold ring might be inlayed with white gold, or they may select to build the ring with facets to add a unique touch to the look and feel of the ring. Gold, platinum, and titanium rings are each very popular types of rings, however; a less common type of ring are the ones made of tungsten. Tungsten rings are built to last. They are made of a unique metal which is built to handle the wear and tear that life can dish out. If you were to rub a metal file against a gold ring or titanium ring you would deface the surface of the ring as it is very soft compared to that of a tungsten ring, which will actually scratch the metal file. They are that tough! These rings are becoming more popular for that specific reason. People like to hold the polish on their rings and tungsten rings promise to do that. Tungsten rings are slowly making their way into the most popular types of men’s jewelry. Because these rings are so much different than other types of rings which have been marketed in the past, people like them. Tungsten rings also come in the color black, which may not be the most popular color for a wedding band, but could be used for an accessory if style is what you are after.
