About Acne And Acne Skin Care Products

By: suegold Home | Health-and-Fitness | Beauty

The biggest plague for skin is the chronic battle teens and adults have with acne. Acne is the result of a clogged hair follicle, not the result of dirt or oil. While dirt and oil can contribute to the clogging of hair follicles, the majority of people with acne have issues with dead skin cells that either slough off at a faster than normal rate or that slough off and become easily clogged in the pores. There are many different variables that cause acne, and of course, there are skin care products that can help treat acne.

Over-treating the skin can actually irritate acne and cause more acne to occur. The bacteria which can contribute to acne can produce in greater quantities when even the best skin care product is used too often and in great quantities. However, the use of ineffective acne skin care products certainly offer little to no assistance either.

Thus, choosing a skin care product for skin that is prone to acne usually requires a little research as well as having the knowledge of your skin type. Irritated skin becomes acne prone skin. Thus, while treating your acne you also have to treat the skin’s condition as well. Skin that is dry will often break out just as fast as skin that is washed too often. Skin care products that offer directive treatments for various skin types are highly recommended.

What is that?

The ingredients in skin care products are nothing less than a perplexing blend of scientific sounding names that offer little hint to their purpose. Skin care products often have elements such as DMAE, which is also known as Dimethylaminoethynol, is a property which is normally found in certain foods that are required for intellectual thought and reflexes.

It is also a fabulous wrinkle reducer when applied rather than ingested. Vitamin C is effective when it comes to minimizing scars as well as helping to eliminate or reduce fine lines. Age spots and pigment problems can receive a little assistance from a substance known as Kojic Acid. Of course, most of you have heard of retinol by now. When skin care products containing retinol first hit the market they took the skin care industry by storm, and with good reason.

Retinol is excellent for clearing up acne, decreasing fine lines, evening skin tone, and even firming the skin while evening pigmentation and attending to age spots. Alpha-hydroxy Acids have also become a standard in the production of skin care products. This is another diverse ingredient that cares for fine lines, pigment problems and age spots, and soothes the texture and firmness of skin.

There are a very wide variety of ingredients that go into skin care products. Choosing those that help your skin’s condition as well as its texture and irritant reactions is the first step is returning to beautiful and natural skin.
