About Acuvue Contact Lenses

By: Clint Jhonson Home | Health-and-Fitness

Acuvue contact lenses are one of the most excellent, well-liked and fashionable brands of contact lenses available today. The series of Acuvue contacts includes several different kinds of contacts like Acuvue, Acuvue 2 Colors and Acuvue Advanced. The Acuvue contact lenses are easily available almost anywhere in the world. An exception is the Acuvue Oasys which is not so easy to find as it is a comparatively newer type of contact lenses and is not known as well as the others in its brand.

Just like other contact lenses, the Acuvue contact lenses have been designed to rectify problems in vision like near sightedness, far sightedness, astigmatism or the failure to change focus from near to far. They fall in the category of soft lenses and are made of plastic polymers such as galyfilcon A, etafilcon A or senofilcon A. Some of the Acuvue contacts may have a cosmetic purpose like changing the color of your eyes to what you always wanted.

The different Acuvue contact lenses can be worn for different periods. Some can be worn for two weeks and then you have to dispose of them. Others are designed to use only for one day so you can put them on in the morning and throw them away at the end of the day. All contacts are made for usage during the day so you have to take them out when you go to bed. However, there are some Acuvue contacts that are approved for night use as well.

Although Acuvue contact lenses are possibly the best kind of contact lenses, it doesn’t mean that you should buy them because of this reason without first consulting your eye doctor. He/she will help you find which lens suits your problem best and will tell you how to clean, disinfect, store and replace your contacts. Taking meticulous care of your contact lenses should become a habit. If you opt for the 1-Day Acuvue contacts, you don’t have to bother about cleaning or storing them as you have to throw them out after each use.

If you use daily wear Acuvue contact lenses, you must remember to take them out and disinfect them each time you take them off, normally at the end of the day. These need to be replaced every fortnight. The continuous wear lenses are less demanding as compared to the daily wear lenses. You need not take them off at the end of the day and you can sleep in them. This will save you some time as you don’t have to clean them each time. These lenses need to be disposed of after a week. The daily disposable Acuvue contacts are the simplest to use; you put them on in the morning, remove them at the end of the day and dispose of them. You can then use a fresh pair the next day.

All women want to look good and Acuvue contact lenses help them improve their appearance. So if you are wearing contact lenses, here are some things you should keep in mind before you wear them. Don’t ever apply eye makeup after you wear your contacts and also take makeup off only after you have removed the contacts. Before you put on your contacts, you should wash your hands as even things like moisturizer can create various kinds of problems to your eye or even damage the lens. Don’t wear your contacts when you go to the beauty salon as the fumes and sprays can be bad. And lastly, don’t forget to remove your Acuvue contacts before you go for a bath as the water and vapors can be harmful.
