By: Al Terry Home | Arts-and-Entertainment

AC/DC is currently on its first tour since 2001. The band is holding concerts in various cities of the United States, Canada and Europe to promote its latest album â€The Black Iceâ€. The AC/DC tickets are in huge demand and usually get sold out within minutes of their release. The Black Ice World Tour began on October 28th, 2008 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

AC/DC is an Australian hard rock band formed by the brothers Angus and Malcolm Young in 1973. The initial band also consisted of lead vocalist Bon Scott and bassist Mark Evans. After the death of Bon Scott, Brian Johnson took the position of the lead singer. The band has numerous hit songs to their credit. â€Back in Blackâ€, "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)â€,"You Shook Me All Night Long", "Highway to Hell", "T.N.T" and "Who Made Who" are some of their popular songs. Their massive fan following ensures that AC/DC tickets remain difficult to obtain.

The band is known for the raw power in its songs. The pounding heavy metal guitar, drums and bass sounds and the distinctive voice of Brian Johnson are the trademark of the band. The band has been recognized for its contribution to hard metal music. They have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2003. They even have streets named after them, namely â€ACDC Lane†in Melbourne and "Calle de AC/DC" in Leganes (Comunidad de Madrid), Spain.

The album Black Ice is the first release of AC/DC in the past eight years. It has proved to be quite a hit amongst the fans. It rocketed to the number one position of sales charts of 29 countries across the globe. The album sold approximately 193000 copies on the first day of its release making it the highest debut of the year. The theme of the album is very obviously â€Rock n Rollâ€. The song â€Rock and Roll Train†from the album has been at the top of the music charts in the U.S. Thus it is not surprisingly, the AC/DC tickets are very hard to come by.

The Black Ice World Tour concerts have got rave reviews from its fans. It starts with a cartoon of Brian Johnson as a devil riding a train. As the cartoon comes to an end, a huge train comes bursting into the set with flames going off in every direction. It is then that Johnson begins the concert with the song â€Rock and Roll Trainâ€. The performance also has Johnson dangling on a bell during the song â€Hells Bellsâ€. At one point during the concert, Angus Young is raised up above the crowd in an elevated runway. The band plays some of their hit songs and concludes the show with â€For Those About to Rockâ€.
