One of the important features of phone card is 'fast dialing'. To make an international call, the caller has to dial as many as 12 to 14 digits. Remembering all these numbers will be very difficult. For those who make frequent calls they will have to take the help of a phone book or a telephone diary. Apart from this, dialing all these numbers takes time and there are great chances of wrong dialing. Wrong dialing will rob the caller of his calling time. What is PIN less dialing? Whenever a person buys a card, the calling company assigns a specific number to the card which is called the PIN (personal identification number). This number is unique to the card. To make an international call, he has to dial the PIN. Now, the calling company identifies the caller. AT the same time, remembering the number could be difficult because PIN is always too long. But, the person has to dial this unique number every time he makes the call. Those who are frequent callers would find this cumbersome. To ease this problem, calling companies have come with a unique feature called the 'PIN less dialing'. In this system, the person need not remember this unique number. At the same time this unique number is tagged on to the card by the calling company and the he can dial without dialing this unique number. How PIN less dialing work? The calling company gives the caller an option to register some of the telephone numbers he would use for making long distance calls. For example, it could be his office telephone, or his mobile or his home telephone etc. Once the telephones are registered with the calling company, the calling company identifies those numbers with the phone card of the caller. So, whenever the caller dials from those numbers, he need not dial the PIN again. He can directly dial the required number. This procedure is of great advantage to the callers. Advantages of PIN less dialing: The greatest advantage is dialing is fast. There are no chances of wrong dialing. The caller can register more than one phone for availing this service. The card can be recharged from any of the telephones. It can be recharged online too. While recharging, some calling companies offer bonus calling time added to the card. The other services normally provided to the this type of card holders is that, each time a call is made, they are informed of the balance available in the calling plan. Under this utility calls can be made to any country or calling region. Disadvantages of PIN less dialing: PIN less dialing service is available to some limited number of telephones. If the caller has to call from some other number, then this facility will not be available. In such cases he has to dial the lengthy PIN number before dialing. Some also argue that some of the calling companies charge some hidden cost on this dialing service. Therefore, the caller should carefully read the terms and conditions of the offer before accepting the utility.
