Anger and Adult ADHD Anger Management go together ADHD Adults have an amazing challenge of frustration. Frustration that leads to anger and anger that leads to broken relationships, maybe violence. With no anger management it will eventually lead to regret, guilt and remorse of our actions. Yes, I have been there, yet have found an answer for some challenges of adult ADHD. Yes, I have Adult ADHD. Anger has been a huge challenge that has affected my whole life, not just my adult life. I am excited to share this method with you as it does work wonders to calm me, relieve stress and melt away anger. What a relief. I am only regretful that I have not shared this with others Step 1: Take a few deep breaths: Yes, breathe using rhythmic breathing as counting in for 3-9 seconds and breathe out for the same amount. Remember to count which keeps you focused on your breathing. Deep breathe for 1 minute or more if you choose. Step 2: What emotions can you Identify? Identify how you feel. I'm guessing you are angry, upset, frustrated, maybe depressed, or worried. This step isn't that important ,so list a few and move on. Step 3: Identify the Values That are Not being satisfied? This step is the most important. It is 90% of the exercise. If you want to do this exercise without the fluff, just do this step. Some of our values not being met may be respect, support, love. ease, safety and consideration. You may find a list of values at the website below. There are many values. The Brief Form: This is the exercise in it's brief form, yet it is all you need for Emotional First Aid. Try it now and feel it work. Again identifying the values not being satisfied is the main component to instant calm. Of course, this is for new stress that has just developed. There are other articles concerning deeper stress and resentment, yet try this quick exercise first.
