All About Shared Web Hosting Services

By: PADMINI Home | Internet-and-Business | Web-Hosting

The most reliable and less expensive web hosting service is the shared web hosting service. In this type of web hosting, a common server is used by numerous websites. In simple words, a single server is shared by more than one website. This type of common server needs an administrator to make sure the server is running perfectly without any problems. Apart from that, the administrator will also update the software and other applications in the server as per the needs of the user.
When a server is shared by many websites, there are high chances of data loss and mayhem. The biggest problem that occurs using a shared server is the security and data loss. This is the reason that all the shared servers have a specialized administrator to check the workings of the server. The main consideration will be the security for data on the shared servers.
The shared servers are classified into two categories as IP-based ad Name â€based. Now, we shall look in to the details of these two categories of shared servers.
IP-Based: This type of server is known as dedicated IP hosting. In this type of hosting, every individual host on the server will have a unique IP address. Normally, the web server will have multiple physical and virtual network interfaces. However, the web server software uses the unique IP address to locate and communicate with the client system.
Name Based: This type of hosting server is called as shared IP hosting. In this type of hosting multiple website and domains will have a single and a matching IP address. When a user or the browser generates a request, it will include the host name as the part of the request. It is the result of the request, where the website is downloaded in to the browser.
