All You Need To Know About Anavar: A Guide To Steroids

By: Tarun Gupta Home | Health-and-Fitness

Anavar is the brand name for the oxandrolone which is an oral steroid that has been 17- alkylated to survive oral ingestion and the first pass metabolism through the liver. It is a mild anabolic steroid with a low androgenic activity as it lacks the capacity to interact with the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and convert to a more potent â€di-hydro’ form. Thus, it is not very toxic and pretty mild on the body’s hypothalamic-testicular-pituitary-axis (HTPA).

Anavar and Muscle Development:

This steroid works well for the promotion of endurance and stamina and muscle mass gains during cutting phases of training although it may not be appropriate for bulk building. Women who fear the masculinizing effects of many steroids would be quite comfortable using this drug, as it is a mild drug and such effects have not been reported for low dosage of ~5mg which should illicit considerable growth without the noticeable androgenic side effects as in case of other drugs.

Anavar carries an alteration that puts metabolic stress on the liver, but still it is well tolerated. It would also appear that Anavar appears not to exhibit the serious hepatotoxic effects like jaundice, cholestatic hepatitis, peliosis hepatis, hyperplasias etc. which are typically attributed to the C17-alpha-alkylated anabolic steroids.

Use in Athletics:
Anavar has even been used successfully in some studies to heal cutaneous wounds or to improve respiratory function. Both of these novel properties make it a good choice for in-season use for runners, boxers, martial arts competitors, and other such athletes.

Fat reduction and Anavar:

Various androgens help in hardening up the muscles and making the conditions favorable for fat reduction. Anavar is one such steroid which may well be called as a "fat-reducer". In study reported reduction in both abdominal and visceral fat when subjects in the low or normal natural testosterone range used anavar.

Side effects of Anavar:

†Since anavar is a 17-alpha-alkylated steroid, it may lead to some degree of hepato-toxicity, but not to the extent of other steroids in the same class such as dianabol, halotestin or anadrol.
†It may also result in headaches, loss of libido, diarrhea and dizziness.
†As it is a mild steroid, high amounts of Anavar dosage are needed to attain the same effect that is achievable with far lesser dosage of some other steroids.
