Earlier this week, we posted an article about Tyra's dubious connections to the recent America 's Next Top Model contenders, specifically Jaslene Gonzalez and Saleisha Stowers, and a number of BuddyTV readers had something to say about it. Viewers and fans are now concerned that the show has become ridiculously predictable, partially because Tyra had previous relationships with the last two winners. Jaslene was previously a Cycle 7 contender who was eliminated in the semi-final round, but was brought back by Tyra for Cycle 9. Saleisha, on the other hand, knew Tyra since Saleisha was a teenager, when she entered Tyra's self-esteem camp for girls. Now, we are all aware that another aspiring model who was eliminated the cycle before is coming into Cycle 10. Fans are speculating that Tyra will be choosing one of "her girls" to bag the title once again. We had our BuddyTV readers react to the recent article, and this is what they had to say. "Tyra's Next Top Pet Project might be a more apt title for this show, the way it's going," Doodette said about the possibility of Marvita bagging the prize even before the competition begins. "I'll watch Cycle 10 but if it's a slam-dunk for Marvita, it'll be my last cycle." Lizagirl was thinking the same thing, as she said, "If Marvita wins, we will all know the show is rigged, and I will only watch reruns on MTV, back when the show was real." Moreover, some readers still couldn't get over their disappointment with the last two seasons' winners. "I was not pleased with Jaslene as a choice nor did I like Saliesha so this will be my last season," said Mmaym. However, some readers came to Tyra's defense, and said that the show isn't cooked, at all. Jbarb even offered a new perspective on how Tyra handled Jaslene. She said, "I think that they saw Jaslene's potential in Cycle 7, but Tyra knew they would be going to Spain . Jaslene, being a native Spanish speaker, would have an unfair advantage on go-sees and in the commercial, so she was called back to do Cycle 8." Cocoboy on the other hand, doesn't believe that Marvita would instantly win the Cycle. He said, "I am pretty sure Tyra will not pick Marvita to win due to the heat right now." Hopefully, Tyra and the show would realize the fans' comments and try to shy away from picking a model who's has previous connections with Tyra.
