There are many who, like Dr. Alan Mintz, the founder of the Las Vegas-based Cenegenics Medical Institute, feel that anabolic steroids are excellent drugs, if they are used judiciously. Certainly, anabolic steroids give aging people strength to live healthy life in the later years of life. Anabolic steroids the synthetic derivatives of testosterone are the medicines that are often prescribed to help restoring strength in aging men and women. In medical field, anabolic steroids are widely used in treating various medical conditions, such as, hypogonadism, delayed puberty, and some types of impotence. They are also used against several chronic wasting diseases, such as AIDS and Cancer. Dr Mintz, a long-time bodybuilder and fitness freak, often prescribed a regimen of regular exercise, good nutrition, along with vitamins and supplements to manage the effects of aging. Mintz admitted that he had been injecting his patients with anabolic steroids and hormones. He also admitted that he had been on human growth hormone for about 10 or 11 years, but maintained that he had not experienced any adverse effects because he took "very small doses." "Well, energy. More energy," he said. "Better body composition. My brain is working, my brain function, we test it, is actually quicker than it was five to six years ago." Dr. Mintz opined that substances such as testosterone and human growth hormone are produced and stored by the human body, but as we get older, these natural levels taper off, creating what he claims are hormone deficiencies that may be responsible for some of the symptoms attributed to old age. Thus, According to Dr. Mintz, anabolic steroids help people live healthy life when they grow old. Anabolic steroids are not the drugs that are meant for the young people rather they are the medicines for the people who are deficient in testosterone hormone. The proper time to use anabolic steroids is old age. These medicines give out wonderful results when they are used at right age. Furthermore, anabolic steroids do not cause side effects, when they are used in small doses.
