Anaphylaxis And Anaphylactoid Reactions Treatment Information

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening type of allergic reaction. Anaphylaxis is a magnified, harmful immunological reaction which occurs after reexposure to an antigen. It is usually involve more than one part of the body which, if severe enough, can lead to death. Anaphylactoid reaction produces a clinical syndrome very similar, but it is not immune-mediated. Anaphylaxis happens after being exposed to a triggering agent. Corticosteroids are used in anaphylaxis primarily to decrease the incidence and severity of delayed or biphasic reactions. Another treatment for anaphylaxis is administration of epinephrine (adrenaline). Epinephrine prevents worsening of the airway constriction, stimulates the heart to continue beating, and may be life-saving. Immunotherapy with Hymenoptera venoms is especially effective treatment. Wear a medical bracelet that lists your trigger. Avoid your trigger. The most effective way to prevent future trouble is to avoid contact with your trigger.

1. Epinephrine drugs is useful in this cases.

2. Allergen immunotherapy is used for the treatment of allergic disorders.

3. Intravenous fluids and medications that support the actions of the heart.

4. Supportive care with mechanical ventilation may be required.

5. Bronchodilator drugs are used in anaphylaxis

6. Antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine; and corticosteroids, such as prednisone may be given.
