Are There Any Advantages To Wearing Rubber Sole Footwear?

By: rubber sole Home | Business | Sales

As you go about your daily activities, your feet usually take the brunt of the work. While you're standing, sitting or walking, the weight of your body lands on your feet ?which is why it is a must for you to invest in a pair of sensible shoes.

For women, it is especially important to have comfortable footwear when you're just lounging around so that your feet will be given a break from wearing torturous high-heeled shoes.

But what is it exactly which makes a pair of shoes last longer? Is a particular material more comfortable for your feet as compared to another material? And if you're walking around in a wet surface, what material should the soles of your shoes have? Read on to find out.

Rubber Sole versus Leather Sole

Shoe manufacturers actually use a variety of materials for the soles of the footwear that they make. Here, let us focus on two of the most popular materials: leather and rubber sole.

Perhaps the primary advantage of wearing leather-soled shoes is that they are more comfortable when worn indoors or outdoors in the summer. Some individuals prefer the 'sound' that leather soles and heels make when walking indoors. Additionally, leather soles and leather footwear in general allow your feet to breathe so it feels a bit cooler than its rubber counterpart.

But a pair of shoes with rubber soles does have its advantages, too. When you're walking on a wet pavement or on snow-covered streets, you should definitely wear shoes with rubber soles. It offers better traction on wet surfaces so the chances of you slipping are minimized. It's also a practical and economical choice for footwear.

Types of Rubber Sole

Remember that not all rubber soles are created equal. Depending on the brand and type of shoes that you are wearing, there are several types of rubber soles which include the following:

1. Resin Rubber

This type of sole is hard-wearing and waterproof. However, it tends to feel a bit hard when you're walking on hard surface.

2. Crepe Rubber

This is probably one of the most versatile types of sole. Crepe rubber is light, flexible and hard-wearing. When its newness fades, make sure that they're not too slippery to wear on wet surfaces.

3. Gristle Rubber

This is the type of sole which are mostly used in industrial footwear because of its robust quality.

4. PVC

Like most gears made from PVC material, this type of sole is flexible and cheap ?but can be slippery and cracks occasionally.

5. Ployurethane

This light yet hard-wearing sole is a type of rubber which offers a good resistance to slipping.
