Article marketing is more than just writing articles: it is a combination of both article writing and article submission to directories and ezines. In fact, the term 'marketing' could be used to refer to using articles as a marketing technique, and is likely its original meaning, but I prefer to think of it as something else: the marketing of my articles. When I write an article that I want people to read, I then must market that article. In order to do that the text I write must be interesting to readers and also be easy to read. The grammar should be reasonable, but not necessarily perfect, but there should be no spelling errors other than understandable typos. Lick this one! Keep in mind that grammar was developed along with language in order to eradicate ambiguity as far as possible, and unfortunately there is now a great deal of ambiguity in our language. That is because certain words have been hijacked to give them meanings that they were not originally intended to give. Some call it 'language development', but I call it 'language destruction'. Word such as 'gay', 'sophisticated' and even 'right' have all been given different connotations because people devised euphemisms or slang terms that eventually became 'accepted' English. At one time the term 'gay' meant carefree, such as in 'the Gay 90s for the 1890s and sophistication referred to cynicism and deceit (not well bred as it is now!). The terms 'right yeah!' and 'right I'll do that' and also have nothing to do with the true meanings of the word. However, back to article marketing, and how article writing and article submission are equally important in marketing your articles. My usage of 'article marketing' is of particular benefit, because if you spend time marketing your article and getting it published and read, then it is more likely to have the desired result than if you made very little effort in marketing it to the public. To many people, the purpose of article submission to article directories is to market their article and get it read by as many readers as possible. They achieve this through directory users checking up on articles related to their own niche and using them on their own websites. Adsense pages are a prime example of this - web pages that have been developed only to attract visitors who will click on the Adsense links published on the page. They don't care about getting traffic to sell their product: Their product is not something you can buy, but clicks made on the Google adverts on their web pages. Particularly with those involved in Adsense arbitrage. I also find it easy to publish my articles on genuine content web pages and I have had a great deal of success in writing articles without having to pay a penny in online advertising - I once maxed out 7 credit cards to the total of $47,500 ignoring the odds, and have just about repaid all that, but these days are over now due to article marketing. All of my advertising is carried out using either article marketing, involving article writing and article submission, and backlinks from social networking and bookmarking sites. The backlinks are not too effective because my site varies between a Google PageRank of 2 and 3, but still hold 3 places on Page #1 of Google for its main keyword (article services) including a quadruple listing (my home page + 3 internal pages) - all through article marketing and judicious SEO used on my web pages. You can do the same. By using a combination of article writing and article submission you too can get top listings in Google. Don't just write your articles but market them: article submission is one of today's most significant and important means of internet advertisng of web pages, and anybody that disagrees with that probably can't write! I would like somebody with top Google listings to write to me and state that article marketing played no part in their success. It sure played about 60% in mine, the other 40% being on-page SEO. Both are important, but were I to choose which to use were I only permitted to use one marketing method, it would be article marketing as a combination of article writing and article submission. Article directories and ezines are great places to have your articles published - far better than regular websites or blogs because that's where people look for content for their own sites!
