Article marketing is the absolute advertising technique if you are promoting affiliate products. I bet you think that I am going to list all of the standard reasons, right? Wrong. Aside from the all the standard reasons that you’ve heard a thousand times before, there is one more little known secret that I have using that works great. It is particularly well suited to situations where you are dropping one affiliate product and going with a different one. I have used this technique on numerous occasions and it is a great way to jump start traffic to your new affiliate (or your own) product. If you write and submit articles, you are no doubt familiar with the author’s resource box. You should have two or three links in each one. One link should direct viewers to your squeeze page and the other two links should point to products that you are recommending. A problem arises when a product that you are promoting ceases to be offered or you no longer like it for some reason. When this happens, you wind up with hundreds of valuable links that are no longer working for you. The articles are still out there attracting viewers and they are still generating URL clicks, but the links are dead. Ughhh! To get around this, go into the two or three directories that are generating the most traffic for you and edit the resource box. Remove the old affiliate link and enter the new one. This process can be quite time consuming and can take you an entire day or two to complete the process. But, it can pay off big. When you re-submit the articles that you have edited, they have to be re-approved by the directory. Upon approval, they are placed on page one of their list of articles as though it is a brand new submission. New articles always get more action than older seasoned ones. Using this technique, I have generated five or even ten times the traffic to a new product or affiliate program. This marketing trick can really give a nice jump start to your profits.
