Back Pain Causes And Herbal Treatment For Natural Backache Relief

By: Dr Andrew Napier Home | Health-and-Fitness | Alternative-Medicine

Back pain is among the most common medical problems and it can be caused by a multitude of factors. Injuries that affect the muscles, the tendons or the ligaments are among the most common back pain causes. The best part is that in these cases the pain will go away in a few weeks. Heavy lifting can result in sprains, damaging of the ligaments, which also produce backache. Herniated discs are also a cause of back pain, as well as damaged done to vertebral discs, even if it doesn't result in herniation.

Back pain or backache can also be provoked by a chronic disease like spondylosis, arthritis or osteoporosis. Although in rare cases, arthritis can affect the spine because after all the diseases can affect all body joints. Osteoporosis is leading to weak bones and this makes the vertebrae more likely to suffer a fracture. Spondylosis causes backache due to the fact that it is a degenerative disease and affects the stability of the spine, leading to disc slip.

Backache treatment needs to be established together with a physician based on the back pain causes. If it is an injury or an inflammation that provokes backache or backache, anti-inflammatory substances are needed. In case of chronic diseases, these should be addressed directly because healing them will lead to no more back pains. Analgesics are also widely used for relieving the pain. Those that are worried about taking artificial pills and pain killers also have the possibility of going for herbal treatments. There are many herbs with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties that can easily compete with the most advanced synthetic drugs.

Cramp bark and black haw is a very efficient combination of herbs for backache. Mix both tinctures together and take 1-4 drops daily for obtaining muscle relaxation. Boswelia is a great remedy in case of back pain caused by inflammation. Its properties are amazing and clinical studies have shown that it can replace successfully non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Ginger is used from ancient times in treating all sorts of pain and it acts just like aspirin, only with milder effects. There are also lots of herbs with analgesic effects. Lavender and chamomile are just two examples. Essential oils extracted from these plants are great for massaging the painful areas. Rumatone Gold oil and wintergreen oil are also recommended for backache sufferers. The best thing to do is to talk to a specialist in order to benefit from the most effective herbal "cocktail" depending on your back pain causes.
