By: JessicaThomson Home | Health-and-Fitness

Baldness is a treatable condition in which a person suffers excessive loss of hair from the scalp. The truth about baldness! It isn’t really possible to grow all that hair you’ve lost but it’s possible to arrest the process.

In the following paragraphs we are going to discuss the causes, symptoms as well as some ways in which you can inhibit the process of hair fall.

Causes

There are many things associated with this, but today, we can easily say that stress and anxiety, other than hereditary problems, top the list. Here are some other major causes of baldness that you need to look out for:

4.Ageing.
5.Irregular Periods.
6.Unkempt scalp.
7.Thinning of hair Strands.
8.Prolonged illnesses like Jaundice.
9.High Testosterone Levels.
10.Excessive Vitamin intake

Symptoms

Well, there isn’t much that needs to be said about this. One of the most visible symptoms is excessive loss of hair in a very short period of time. Though, before this happens, you may need to be wary of symptoms such as:

11.Thinning Of Hair Strands.
12.Constant itching in the scalp.
13.Dandruff and other bacterial problems.
14.Lack lustrous hair.

Prevention is better than Cure

Here are some time tested simple ways in which you can prevent baldness:

Diet

A protein rich balanced diet can do wonders to the overall health of your scalp. Besides that you can also include green vegetables, fruits, carrots and milk products like butter and yoghurt. Include eggs, fish, meat, beef and lots of protein rich food items like potatoes, pulses and soybeans in your diet.

Cleanliness is one of the most important things! Use a good quality medicated shampoo, at least once a week to avoid fungal and bacterial infection and to keep problems like itching and dandruff at bay.

Drink lots of fluids like fresh juices and soups.

Massage

Massaging your scalp on a regular basis will make sure that enough nutrition and blood reaches your hair follicles. This in turn will keep your hair healthy, thick and lustrous. Do you know that it doesn’t really matter what kind of oil you use to massage your scalp? Oil just acts as a lubricant whereas it’s the massage and the gentle scrubbing that really matters.

Effects of Baldness

It can cause serious mental and emotional problems to people. Good, fluffy hair is synonymous with good looks and people who are in the process of going bald often have difficulty accepting it.

This can often be seen from the fact that people try all kinds of methods and processes to get rid of the problem such as using artificial hair and getting their hair weaved.

Well, contrary to this fact, a lot of people do seem to carry of that bald look with a lot of confidence and style.
