Ball Point Pen

By: bretsykess Home | Writing-and-Speaking | Writing-Articles

Most of us have used a ball point pen at one time or another however few of us think about how this ingenious machine actually works. Many people don take the internal workings of their ball point pen into consideration just because they have too many other things going on. I, alternatively, don't have anything besides free time so I assumed that I would investigate.

My first inclination was to take a ball level pen apart. Tearing the gadgets to pieces would not only assist me uncover how the thing actually works however it could also relieve plenty of tension as well. I came across this somewhat bleak experiment by accident or by aggravation.

You most likely can relate to my frustration. How many occasions have you ever grabbed a ball point pen that didn work correctly? You scribble and scribble only to see the indentations from the inkless machine on your paper.

At instances you could have used these indentations as a method of recording the information. Later, you scan the paper carefully to see what you had engraved into the smooth surface along with your nearly useless ballpoint pen. You will have even found yourself evenly coloring over the indentations to retrieve the information.

Other occasions the writing machine expels too much ink. You discover your writing with a gushing ball level pen that leaves a sea of blue ink on your paper. Reading your own handwriting on this case can show to be an ideal problem and your efforts are for naught.

After all this all occurs while you are in a hurry. I have had my most severe run-ins with dysfunctional ball point pens while I was on the telephone taking an important message. I actually lost a job as a secretary because of an unworthy ball level pen that did not allow me to file the proper message.

As I took the ball point pen apart, I found that it is really a simple machine that works much like roll-on deodorant. There's a tiny ball that presses all the way down to launch ink on to the paper. This straightforward invention is pure genius nevertheless it does have its shortcomings.

There are such a lot of issues that may go wrong. Identical to the underarm deodorant that dries and caked on to the shelling out ball, the ink can dry up as well. On the other hand, the ink can overflow if the ball is simply too loose.

I am happy that I found how the contraption works. Nevertheless, I actually need to know tips on how to repair the ball point pen when it's performing up. Now that may be pure genius.
