The industry of transcription is rapidly growing. In every field there is a need for transcribers. Transcription also is used to make audio of reading materials, such as books and magazines, for someone who would rather hear it than read it. What is the transcription process?

You will speak the words instead of typing them if you’re transcribing from the written record. For medical transcription, you will transcribe from a recording machine the doctor speaks into during the examination of a patient. Using a set of earphones you will listen and then write the information in the patient's medical chart.

If you are serious about starting a transcription business, the best place to begin is at school. If you want your home transcription business to be a success, you need to learn as much as you can about transcription. It's mandatory to have a computer, a printer, and a tape player for a transcription business. To gain clients, you need to solicit business at hospitals and law offices to see if they use home-based workers for their transcription needs. A lot of companies hire transcriptionists to work from home to save on their business costs. If you want to work at home, transcription is an excellent path to choose, as it allows you to be in control of your time and compensation.
