Best Ways To Lose Weight Fast And Dispelling Dieting Myths

So it is once again coming up to the Christmas season, and people are starting to freak out about not reaching last January's weight loss resolutions - a lot of folks have given up on reaching their weight loss goals for the year, but it is not too late to get into shape and lose weight for Christmas.

It might be a good idea to figure out why your weight loss attempt didn't succeed when you made that resolution late on December 31 last year (after 2-5 glasses of Cabarnet, of course). First of all, lets get one thing out of the way - you are not a bad person for not reaching your goal.... I repeat: You are not a bad person for not reaching your goal! The truth is that you might not have been properly instructed on how to lose weight properly. I constantly hear about people trying crazy fad diets - have you ever heard of the Cayenne Pepper, Syrup, and Water body cleanse diet? I think that approach to losing a few pounds is absolutely bonkers.

Most often, the problem is not a lack of effort, or a lack of desire. It is more often about a lack of education - you are also not alone. Some of the facts here are:

The truth is that the diet industry makes a fortune off of a lot of people - fad dieting methods and atkins books have been all the rage in recent years. People will reach for about anything that they think has that magical touch to weight loss. I think its good to realize that there are a ton of dieters out there and a lot of them have the same problems - a lot of us think that fad diet can take off the pounds, but the truth is that you can lose weight fast and in a healthy way!

The most effective way to learn the best ways to lose weight fast is to properly educate yourself on the subject of losing weight! My advice is the following:
- KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!). Eat healthy and live healthy! Most people KNOW what foods are bad for them, but we are creatures of habit, and habit can be hard to break. Alternate your routine and keep your meals simple!
- Exercise! Even simple exercises can help you lose weight! Take your dog for a walk - clean your house - even that is exercise. The bottom line here is 'try to keep yourself busy'. If you are in a jam and need to shed the pounds, don't push too hard - hurting yourself isn't worth it.
- Have a plan! This is where things can get difficult. It can be tough to balance your life in order to get the right foods into your body, and find the time to exercise. I highly recommend shopping with a plan - KNOW what foods you are going to buy BEFORE you go to the grocery store. Pick a good range of food - don't fall for those all meat diets, or other fad diets - they aren't good for you. Balance your diet! Also, plan an exercise routine, even if you are just putting a sticky on the fridge reminding you to walk the dog - this is a start! Oh, and refer back to the KISS point if you get confused.

Lucklily, I have learned how to make some pretty good choices with my diet this year and I have dropped 25 lbs - I'm feeling pretty good about going home for the holidays, and there is still a lot of time to lose even more weight for Christmas. There is so much that you can learn about losing weight - some methods do work quickly, and in a healthy way. There are a lot of great reviews if you search around the net for different plans that can help - and these are not crappy, fad, programs either, if you search hard enough.
