Bingo - How To Play The Game

By: Gen Wright Home | Health-and-Fitness

Do you know that the famous game Bingo is known in the United Kingdom as Housey Housey?

Although the origin of Bingo is not really known, it has become a very popular game ever since people came to know about it. Bingo is a gambling game which is played by marking off numbers on a ticket as they are randomly called out. In order to win, a winning combination must be achieved.

The American and the English versions of Bingo are similar in the manner of playing the game. However, the tickets and the calling are slightly different.
The game is actually presided over by a caller who calls out the numbers and validates winning tickets. Winning tickets should have winning combinations like line, two lines, and full house. A line combination actually consists of a horizontal line of five numbers on the ticket. On the other hand, two lines cover any two lines on the same ticket. Correspondingly, a full house combination covers all fifteen numbers on the ticket.

In the United Kingdom, a two line game commonly follows a line game. A two line game is also usually followed by a full house game. On the other hand, in New Zealand, three lines may be claimed with much larger prizes. Moreover, a full house is played several times throughout the session. In all cases though, the last number called must be in the winning sequence. As such, it is important for the player to stop the game in time before the caller calls out the next number to avoid getting a claim invalidated.

Today, the computerization of Bingo systems is increasing. In fact, in the United Kingdom, an Auto-Validate system is mostly used in large clubs. This is done by a staff reading out a 1 to 8 digit security code. This system saves the club from the time consuming reading of every number on the ticket. However, in smaller clubs each number must be read out.

The electronic Random Number Generator in Bingo Halls in the UK has caused the usage of the nicknames above in mainstream Bingo to dramatically decrease. This is not surprising though since Bingo with an electronic RNG is much less time consuming. Moreover, replacing the nicknames with a simple repetition has allowed Bingo halls to focus on the more lucrative business of Mechanized Cash Bingo. Thus, with the advances in technology, Bingo with RNG has proliferated not only in the UK but in other parts of the world as well.

Online gamers have definitely increased with the prevalence of online Bingo games. As a result, many online gaming community members have taken up to start learning the game. Moreover, it has also enticed online gaming community to participate in online Bingo games as well. With the thrill and excitement that Bingo offers, it is not surprising why many people from around the world have become increasingly involved in the game.
