Blu-ray Media

By: Charlie Board Home | Computers-and-Technology | Hardware

Many offices both home based and corporate require a selection of data storage facilities in order to store and protect data such as client information, product specifications and other business activities. Often, these storage devices can range from memory sticks to compact discs and DVDs. Each device has its own advantages and disadvantages and each is designed to contain and store a variety of different data formats. Compact discs for instance are used to store audio information as well as other written types of documentation. DVDs though are used to hold visual records such as promotional films and visual recordings of conferences and meetings. In recent times however, DVDs are increasingly being replaced in the workplace by newer versions of these discs called blu-ray media. Here at Internet Inks we have a great selection of blu-ray visual storage discs as well as a range of printer cartridges, toner cartridges and other printer ink.

This newer format of DVD has many advantages over the traditional discs used for visual playback. One of the most important of these advantages is that the blu-ray disc can often contain much more information than its older counterpart. This means that savings can be made longer term by reducing the number of discs needed.

For many businesses though, the most important advantage of the blu-ray disc is the superior quality of the resolution compared to the DVD. This increased resolution means that the films or visual record of proceedings can be captured on film in a much higher quality than other formats. When played back via a blu-ray disc player (similar to a DVD player but specifically designed for blu-ray discs), the picture quality is much more enhanced and improved than the normal DVD. Details can be better captured visually and colours shown on screen are much more vivid and realistic than via the DVD method.
