Over the past few years, breast augmentation has gone through a lot of change. Because of the problems associated with the original silicone implants, women made a change to saline implants. But saline still didn't offer many women the choice they were looking for. Saline implants tend to be hard if overfilled, and wrinkle if underfilled. A new silicone high strength gel implant, or gummy bear implant, is made of a gummy consistency, is more solid and holds its shape better than the saline implants. The gummy consistency, similar to the feel and consistency of a candy gummy bear, also decreases the likelihood of rippling, and provides greater safety because the silicone is less likely to escape from the shell if it were to rupture. Because the gummy bear implants are made of a more solid silicone material with a strong, textured shell, they tend to hold their shape better and give a woman a very natural and proportionate breast shape. They are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and have been found to closely match natural breast shapes and chest dimensions. While the cosmetic advantages of the gummy bear implants is immediately apparent, they also offer women an added benefit. According to initial data and testing, these cohesive implants are showing a low complication rate. With traditional silicone implants, there was always a risk of rupturing, causing the silicone to leak out. With the gummy bear implants, even if the implants do rupture, the silicone will not leak because of its thick, gummy substance. Gummy bear breast implants can be inserted either through an incision in the armpit, or through the crease underneath the breasts. If you are contemplating breast augmentation for the first time, or if you are considering replacing old implants, gummy bear implants may be the right choice for you. Ultimately, the results weigh in with the women choosing to use these implants. And so far, the results are astounding.
