Women to enhance their personality and body often go for breast implants, which is reshaping or augmenting of the breast in the artificial manner. Breast enhancement process can be carried out at any stage after the breasts are completely developed. The need of breast implants is often felt by women after severe weight loss, after childbirth, or after ageing when the breast loses their shape and volume. Women usually go for this surgery due to aesthetic reasons so that they attain a perfect body well in shape having a fuller bust line. Due to latest advancement and growth in technology especially in the field of medical science, doctors have become quite competent to handle these types of cosmetic surgeries. Now women can easily think of safe breast implants with many experienced doctors operating in this field. There are basically two types of breast implants that are usually considered as safe and effective. Saline and silicone get breast implants are two primary types of breast implants. †Saline Breast Implants- Saline breast implant is a pouch made of silicone rubber, which is surgically inserted under the chest tissue or muscle and then it is filled with saline water with a valve. This implant appears less natural compared to silicone gel implants as this might cause visible rippling. In many case saline implants are found to be rupture and the saline get released. In this condition the empty implants has to be removed and replaced. †Silicone Gel Breast Implants- Earlier, the silicone gel breast implants had thick silicone gels but today this implant has multiple layers of silicone elastomer around the implant and these are pre-filled and are ordered by the surgeon. The shape of this implant cannot be changed and longer incision has to be made to implant them. This breast implant provides a firmer and softer effect compared to saline implant. Recovery after Breast Implant Patients are able to resume their normal activity within the one week time span. However the recovery after breast implants often depends on the level of activity that is usually performed by the patients. Women who go for sub-muscular breast implants need a longer recovery time and experience more pain as the muscles are cut down to carry out the implants. These women need to avoid strenuous physical activity for up to six week period. Women are encouraged to do arm movement during the initial recovery as it lessens the discomfort.
