COPD, Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis Treatment by Dr. Ronald Mullen
COPD, Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis are due to the early degeneration of lung structure including the alveoli, bronchioles and bronchi, which results in difficulties to breath and excessive phlegm production.  The therapy in my clinic is to focus on helping patients to restore the lung structure and function.  As patients’ lung structure improving, they will breathe better with less oxygen dependence, shortness of breath, less coughing and phlegm and more productive cough to expel phlegm.  Patients can notice a difference with 2-4 weeks of treatments.  The treatment can provide a semi-permanent fix with long lasting results and patients only need minimum maintenance treatment later on.
1)  Mild and Moderate COPD, Emphysema, and Chronic Bronchitis
Patients with mild condition (usually under 50) can become symptom free with 2-4 weeks of treatment.  Patients with moderate conditions (usually from 50 to 65) who are not on oxygen can be symptom free with 1-2 months of treatment.
2)  Severe COPD, Emphysema, and Chronic Bronchitis
Patients with severe condition (typically over 65) who are on oxygen require 3 to 4 months of treatment.  Within 2 weeks of treatment, patients should have a reduced shortness-of-breath, coughing with phlegm, and improved energy level.  With 1 month of treatment, patients should have reduced oxygen dependence.   With 2 months of treatment, patient should have 50% symptom improvement.  A continued 3 to 4 months of treatment is required to achieve reversal of the lung degeneration.
I help patients in two ways:

Ralph, a 70 year old male presented in my office with the diagnosis of COPD and
emphysema. Upon questioning he revealed that he has been on oxygen therapy for the
past 7 years with symptoms getting progressively worse. His legs and feet are so swollen
he is barely able to wear shoes. He is able to walk for only short distances before finding
himself gasping for breath.
Three years ago he was also diagnosed with lung cancer of the left upper lobe for which he received radiation therapy. His condition is so advanced he says he has just about given up hope. His current treatment protocol is CIPRO 500 mg. 2 x a day for 10 days per month along with using a Nebulizer 4 x a day and PREDISONE 10 mg. per day which he adjusted to 40 mg. per day as needed when he has difficulty breathing. After a TCM diagnosis, the patient was given the therapy in my office.  At his next office visit 11 days later, the Edema in his legs and feet has dissipated and he reported feeling much better with a significant increase in energy. Ralph continued his progress over the next three months and was able to get off antibiotics immediately after starting his herbal therapy.
He currently is off all medications and takes a low maintenance dose of the herbal products. Needless to say, Ralph is delighted with the results and has been able to get
back to enjoying life again with his wife and family.
