Breathing Trouble? Make Your Own Natural Cleaner From Scratch!

By: Vianesa Vargas Home | Home-and-Family

Did you know that there could be toxic substances in your home that may lead to sinus allergy complications and breathing trouble? Do you know what these items are? They are the cleaning products that consumers use every day to clean and disinfect their homes. What is even more disturbing are the numerous studies that show how these toxic substances found within these home cleaners can influence symptoms of allergies and cause many other health problems. One way that consumers can combat the affects of toxic home cleaners is by choosing to make their own green cleaner. Not only is a naturally made home cleaner very cost effective, it will also help people with allergies breathe better and have less respiratory health problems.

According to the Medical News Today article, "Asthma in kids linked to household cleaning products and chemicals" researchers from Bristol University in the United Kingdom conducted a study on 14,000 children from birth. They discovered that over the years the children's parents who used a home cleaner with toxic substances such as those found in carpet cleaners, bleach, disinfectants, window cleaners and air fresheners had more respiratory health issues. These health issues included symptoms of allergies, such as having a sinus allergy, asthma and breathing trouble, such as wheezing.

They also discovered that children whose parents used these household products were twice as likely to develop breathing trouble as opposed to children whose parents did not use them as often (Medical News Today, 2004).

There are many ways consumers can make their own all natural cleaner for disinfecting and cleaning areas around the house. This green cleaner will help to reduce symptoms such as breathing troubles for those who are sensitive to harmful chemicals and toxic substances. One excellent non-toxic home cleaner is baking soda.

According to the website Natural Home Living, in their article, "Greener Cleaners," it gives specific examples on how consumers can make their own natural cleaner with baking soda and water. These are non toxic and help to eliminate any chemicals, or toxic substances from being released into the air. They should also help to ease the problems associated with breathing trouble.

Eliminate Breathing Trouble with a Homemade Natural Cleaner for Odor

Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons of Baking Soda
1 Quart of Warm Water

Directions - Dissolve the baking soda in the quart of warm water; this is an excellent solvent to clean countertops with and is great at fighting unpleasant odors in the home.

Another great all natural home cleaner is lemon. Lemons are highly acidic and can break down stubborn grease buildup and mineral deposits (Natural Home Living).

Reduce the Amount of Noxious Chemicals and Toxic Substances Released in the Air

Ingredients:
½ cup of lemon juice
½ cup warm water

Directions - Combine both ingredients into a spray bottle and use on hard to remove stains.

One of the most popular toxic substance that consumers use for brightening their whites and for helping kill mold and mildew, is chlorine bleach. But there is much more to chlorine bleach than meets the eye.

Although it works superbly at cleaning clothes and getting rid of mold and mildew it also is one of the most dangerous home cleaner substances in the home.

There is an alternative natural cleaner that takes care of mildew, mold, and gets whites clean, and it does it without being harmful to the environment or people in the household. This substance is hydrogen peroxide. According to author Matthew Hoffman in his article, "The Best Non-Toxic Ways to Clean Your Home" he states that hydrogen peroxide based bleach is not only a better non toxic choice for getting clothes clean, but it also sanitizes counters, kills mildew and is excellent at removing stains from counters.

Making a natural cleaner doesn't have to be expensive to be effective. It also doesn't have to be incredibly difficult to make. All of these green cleaner solutions can replace harmful chemicals; toxic substances being released into the air. These natural concoctions will help prevent symptoms of allergies, such as breathing trouble caused by harmful chemicals being released into the air.
