In order to organize the perfect wedding, you need to think about many things, from the choice of the restaurant to favors, but probably the most important thing for any woman that is about to pronounce the faithful yes is the bridal gown. The bride, indeed, is the real star of the day, and everybody, from the groom-to-be to guests, are curious to see what the bride-to-be will wear. Certainly the institution of marriage has recently lost its importance, but for many women wearing the white dress (or colored with the most trendy colors), is still a very strong desire, even if it is only to walk their personal catwalk down the nave of the church with a dress that they should wear only once in a lifetime. They should, but among divorces and remarriages it is not certain that you can wear the bridal dress only once in a lifetime; however, although the uniqueness of the wedding dress is not guaranteed anymore, it still has a certain appeal. Moreover, setting aside the hypocrisies and the fairy tales telling us that most couples only consider marriage as the main expression of their love, for many people the wedding day is also a chance to party and a big social event, where everybody †not only the bride and groom, but also guests †can dress up like they never have the chance to do. For this reason it is not only the bride that has to get busy trying to find the perfect dress: also the choice of the dress of witnesses and of the closest relatives and friends is not so easy, as everybody wants to show off a special, glamorous outfit. And since weddings are glamorous events, also the creativity of the most important designers is at the service of these formal dresses, most notably of bridal gowns, and as happens for all fashion collections, fashion changes over the years also for groom and bride dresses. The latest trends regarding bride dresses are the return of the one-piece dress to the detriment of separate skirt and bodice, and the return of the bridal veil and of the train †for bolder brides! As far as colors are concerned, besides white, which never goes out of fashion, although nowadays brides do not have much of virgins, pastel colors, notably pink, are very fashionable this year, especially for the most modern models. The trendiest materials are organdie and taffeta, as well as Mikado, lace and tulle, sometimes embellished through satin insertions. The star of the day is the bride, but also the groom has to choose the right dress if he does not want to make a poor impression: in the field of groom dresses we can say that traditional dresses, which make you seem rigid, are going out of fashion, to the advantage of models that might be classic, but certainly less rigid and embellished through original features, or that are realized with unusual colors, like silver and gold. Choose your dress then, and get ready for your own catwalk.
