The color white does not have to be the only choice a bride has for her big day. New brides of the 21st Century want the shoe and color that fits their style of wedding dress, and most brides today want what goes with their idea of a wedding shoe. Women may want fuchsia, black, silver, gold, red, blue, or any other color inside the color palette an artist would have available for his painting. Because women come in all sizes and shapes these women do not want to be held to a standard their grandmothers or great grandmothers once thought was proper shoe wear for a prom or a wedding. Women today want to be comfortable or showy. There is not a whole lot of room for in between in the area of shoes for special occasions today. Some brides want the â€bling†of their wedding day theme to be carried over to the shoes they are wearing, whereas other women want a flat shoe that is more akin to a sandal, and has little to do with formalwear. This also goes for girls and their proms. Gone are the days of wearing the highest heels to the prom and see if you can balance all night in high heels. The modern prom girl wants to have a bright shoe that she can walk around in and dance in for the long night ahead of her. Straps or no straps with bridal shoes is now standard and a closed in shoe is not normally what a young lady dancing and standing all night at the prom wants to be held into. The days of standard shoes or suits for proms and weddings have mostly gone away, and today’s prom and wedding women want grand style. No matter what that style is, it is not dowdy and it will become the voice for their self-expression. Shoes for the prom have to be comfortable, yet stylish and must be able to withstand a night of walking and dancing. While many women feel that they can sacrifice comfort for fashion, there is rarely a good reason for this to take place, as blistered feet and an inability to walk do not make for a fashionable appearance.
