Burn Causes And Symptoms And Natural Home Remedy For Natural Cure Of Burns

By: Dr Charles Buchar Home | Health-and-Fitness

Burn is the name given to an injury that is caused by skin's exposure to excessive heat, electricity, chemicals, light, radiation, friction or fire. Most of us must have experienced the condition once in our lifetime. Burns can be categorized into three types - first degree, second degree and third degree, depending on the severity of the skin damage caused. While first degree burns cause damage to the top layer of the skin and get healed in a day or two, second degree burns are more severe and causes blisters. The latter are much more painful and also need special attention and care. Third degree burns cause damage to all the layers of the skin and are extremely painful. They make the skin look charred as the injury penetrates deep into the nerves. In the following lines, we have listed certain home remedies for treating burns.

Causes of Burns

1.Direct fire burn
2.Inflammable liquid or gas burn
3.Electricity burn
4.Chemical burns
5.Sunburns
6.Therapeutic burns (as in operation, laser etc)
7.Burns due to contact of skin to extreme hot materials like frying pan, oven’s grill etc

Home Remedies for Burns We recommend

1.Use some of these home remedies to treat burns:
2.Apply Colloidal silver this is a natural antibiotic and disinfectant if the burn is very painful, use in spray.
3.Apply a lotion made with vitamin A.
4.Take Vitamin C w/ bioflavonoids this is an antioxidant needed for the formation of collagen. Studies have shown that high doses of vitamin C are very necessary.
5.Take vitamin E needed to prevent scarring.
6.Plantain leaves is a popular remedy for treating burns. These green weedy plants grow practically anywhere in the world with sufficient water. Just don't confuse this plantain with the banana-like vegetable of the same name. Hit the leaf with a small hammer, enough to smash just a little bit the plant than wrap the affected area with the leaf.

Herbal remedies for burns, vitamin and mineral supplementation are also very useful in promoting positive healing and in reducing scarring. A few herbs, vitamins and mineral rich foods useful in this regard are:

1.Eating foods high in zinc, such as oysters and other shellfish, or taking a zinc supplement promotes healthy skin and reduces the healing time for burns.
2.Eating foods that are high in vitamins A, C and E, such as broccoli, citrus fruits and whole grain cereals also assist in the skin's recovery from burns. Vitamin E supplements can also be applied directly to the burn to reduce the likelihood or intensity of permanent scarring.
